Some of you might be wondering where the hell Hillrod.com and Hillrod.net went if you happened to be attempting to navigate to that page. Well, it doesn't actually exist anymore. I renewed the site before being kicked out of the band and no one has contacted me to aquire the domain.
Later on, I'll probably post the full story, but not until I get a good draft down for a future novel (oh it is a hell of a story). It'll take a little while for me to get over being totally screwed to get some perspective on this.
Basically I was in the band with a fella named Rodger Chennault for six years, and with a drummer named Kyle Parish for the past two. I did all the web work, all the managing, artwork, you name it, I did it. Apparently Rodger got angry at me for not showing up at the exact specified times he wanted for practice (it was an hour drive to his house, I was the only one with a job and wife, so being on time when also waiting on other band members was next to impossible). So, rather than talk with me about it, he dumps off two of my instruments at my job. Wow. Then he (a 46 year old) text messages me that I'm out of the band. I had to text him back that I needed to come and pick up the rest of my equipment.
Here is some interesting logic. He reasons that since his sister bought me a bass four years ago, that he can keep all of my equipment that was at the studio (his sister's other house where he lives).
I then had to communicate with him in a roundabout way by emailing his sister that I would sue if I had to. I figure at that point he might call me and talk to me like an adult, but he texts me that he has thrown all my property into the river. I wonder if that was an over reaction?
I then sent him a letter because I didn't want to involve his sister anymore, and check out what he did to me. With the help of Kyle (I currently believe his sister Patti is too good a person to do this), Rodger lodged a complaint against the store I work at (Guitar Center) - Rodger does not have internet access so he had to have help. The District Manager answers the complaint, and Rodger then proceeds to tell him a bunch of lies to try to get me fired from my job. He called him several times ranting and raving about me and then the DM turned it over to the loss prevention manager, who luckily could easily find out about Rodger's instability in the past and turned out to be quite understanding and helpful.
So after big bad Joe Hawkins sends an email and a letter, this guy feels justified in trying to get me fired from my job when he knows I have a child on the way. I'd seen Rodger turn on so many people in the past, including his sister and daughter, but I naively thought it wouldn't happen to me. Now he has stolen from me and tried to ruin my life. Way to go humanity!
The only positive here is that this will make a hell of a story and at least a couple songs.
Oh, and that is seriously the EXTRA SHORT version. I might put the long version up at some point, but I'll have to submit it to some journals first.
Update.... wow, its been over half a year and the guy is still obsessed to the max. With a little Kyle on his shoulder whispering in his ear, he now believes I'm out to steal all of his AWESOME material. He repeatedly calls my house and leaves angry messages on my answering machine. Both he and Kyle have called telling me to leave them alone while then asking me to call them. - Once you try to get me fired from my job with the intention of ruining my family's livelihood, you are considered scum in my book and do not deserve communication.
